Bioscope acts as a secure platform partner for your healthcare provider. Your doctor initiates the test, oversees your care, and manages your results. We provide the secure technology and laboratory infrastructure to process your sample and deliver insights directly to your clinician.
Clinicians choose Bioscope for our commitment to clinical-grade accuracy and uncompromising security. Unlike direct-to-consumer tests, our workflow is designed for medical professionals who require high-precision data protection, ensuring your health information remains a private matter between you and your care team.
"Zero Trust" means we don't assume anyone—even our own employees—should have access to your data by default. We implement a "Zero Standing Access" model, meaning no engineer has permanent permission to view patient data. Access is granted only when absolutely necessary, for a limited time, and is strictly logged and audited.
Your information is encrypted into unreadable code using AES-256 standards when stored ("at rest") and protected by TLS 1.2+ security protocols whenever it moves through our system ("in transit"). This ensures that even if a physical server were stolen, your data would remain unreadable and secure.
Your data is hosted in highly secure, US-based cloud facilities (Amazon Web Services US-East). These facilities meet strict physical security standards.
Yes. We meet and maximize all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) requirements. We treat your genetic data as electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI), applying safeguards that often exceed regulatory minimums, such as requiring hardware keys for administrative access and utilizing AI-driven vulnerability detection.
No. We are a clinical platform, not a data broker. Your data is used solely to provide clinical insights to you and your doctor.
Access is strictly limited. Only the specific clinical systems processing your report have access to the raw data. Our support and engineering teams do not have "standing access" to view patient records. In the rare event access is needed for troubleshooting, it requires a specific, time-limited approval process (Just-In-Time access) that is fully logged.
Since your doctor manages your relationship with Bioscope, we recommend starting with them. However, for specific questions about our security practices, you can review our full security documentation at https://security.bioscope.ai or contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@bioscope.ai.
